Values & Mission

Values

  1. Worship — Presence

  • We are Presence People. His Presence is our priority!

  • Presence over principles.

  • “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” — Exodus 33:15

  • We honor God by worshiping first.

  • We’re okay if we’re not the church for people if they don’t like this element.

    2. Family

  • We’re not just a ministry, we’re a family.

  • Family provides the context.

  • We believe that a healthy church functions like a family and feels like a home.

  • You can belong before you believe, behave. We want to be friends of sinners, like Jesus.

  • Family is where you’re loved into your purpose.

  • Family is how we relate to one another. Family begins with a Mom and Dad. We honor our parents!

  • Values 1 and 2 are about the Great Commandment.

    3. Growth

  • We don’t just maintain, we multiply.

  • “Be fruitful and multiply!” — Genesis 1:28

  • Intimacy unto fruitfulness!

  • This is about the Great Commission.

  • We grow AS disciples and IN disciples.

    4. Generosity

  • We are generous with our time, talent, and treasure.

  • We serve, we give.

  • We tithe. We give our first fruits to the storehouse, the church.

  • This is the normal Christian life. This is not abnormal or radical.

  • Consistent posture of surrender.

  • It all belongs to Him. His is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory!

    5. Legacy

  • We begin with the end in mind.

  • It’s not just about the finish line, but the journey.

  • Legacy is not something that you leave, but something that you live.

  • There’s no success without a successor.

  • This is about being a good steward with what God has given to you.

  • We sow good seeds without expecting anything in return. It’s about my legacy, not my returns.

History

History

The Beginning

Pastor Jeff and Melissa Phillips have pastored in several churches for 18 years. They planted Legacy Owensboro in May of 2010 as a daughter work.

The Future

As of 2016 Legacy Owensboro and Legacy Nashville are the existing campuses.  It is our desire to continue to plant other Legacy Churches as we pursue the unveiling of God's desire for all of us till people's hopes and dreams are recognized, restored and released.

We're launching Groups!

September 10th, we launch Legacy Groups.  Go to connect center after church and sign up for a group.

It's not Dinner Parties, it's Legacy Groups.

Dinner Parties were a wild success! But, we want to grow deeper. After all, we're a family!

The purpose of Legacy Groups is simple. Connect and have fun!
